While a run is made up of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit, a set is made up of three or four cards of the same rank but different suits. Depending on the regulations being followed, each plastta kinghyer is dealt a certain number of cards at the start of the game, typically seven or ten. One face-up card initiates the discard pile, while the remaining cards form a draw pile. The players alternately draw a card from the discard pile or the draw pile, then discard one card from their hand.
