888poker is the virtual home of Mystery Bounty poker tournaments, with their $100,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty Main Event being the flagship tournament of their weekly offering.

The format continues to prove popular as, once again, the six-figure guarantee was surpassed thanks to the 1,072 entries that created the $107,200 prize pool.

One of the highlights each week is finding out which lucky player scored the $10,000 jackpot bounty, and the latest winner of the top mystery prize was none other than 888poker ambassador Ian Simpson.

The Brit locked up the windfall on the event's Day 1 and managed to navigate his stack all the way to the final table, which played out on Monday, August 5 and featured cards-up coverage on the site's Twitch channel.

Who Performed Best in the Mystery Bounty Main Event?

This week's Mystery Bounty Main Event final table played out at lightening speed, going from eight player to a winner in less than an hour.

First on the chopping block was "omserkand". The player was forced all-in from the big blind, and their six-five could not overcome the ace-eight held by chip leader "Alysson1994". Amazingly, omserkand had managed to make it to the FT without notching a single knockout.

"IOwnU888", who narrowly trailed "Alysson1994" in the counts, shot up into pole position after felting "raphaperfect" in a blind-on-blind confrontation. "IOwnU888" shipped in his stack with ace-six and held out to score the bust out after their opponent called off with king-nine and failed to improve. The eliminated player cashed out $2,801, following their $1,367 prize that was topped up by $1,434 in additional bounties.

Soon after, "Alysson1994" and Simpson tangled in tournament-defining pot. The latter picked up AJfrom early position and raised it up before "Alysson1994" put in a three-bet with QQnext to act. Action folded back to Simpson, who moved all in for 26 big blinds. "Alysson1994" quickly called as the covering stack and ladies remained best to end Simpson's deep run in sixth place for a total prize of $11,864.

"IOwnU888" and "Alysson1994" continued to dominate, seeing off "Jobin.Kood", "pankri55" and "PhilLax" to set up their heads-up showdown.

The duo played a few hands, with only a couple of big blinds separating them, so they opted to do an ICM chop that left a little bit up top, along with the winner's bragging rights.

"Alysson1994" wrapped up proceedings two hands later, padding their bankroll with $7,444 and a further $1,140 in bounties.
